Starting a niche marketing business is just like starting any other online business. There are certain steps you have to take and certain tools you need if you want it to be successful. And let’s face it, if you’re starting an online business you do want it to be a success!

Once again, promotion and advertising doesn’t have to cost you anything. In fact, even if your business has been running for a while, the best forms of promotion are free.

Be sure and study search engine optimization so you know how to make your site search engine friendly. Include relevant keywords and descriptions to make sure you show up when a prospective customer is looking for what you’re offering.

Set out to build as many links to your site as possible. These will help your site rank higher in the search engines, but they are also a valuable source of direct, targeted traffic back to your site.

With niche marketing, related forums are a great way to get targeted traffic. But you can also comment on blogs, submit articles, upload videos, etc. All free and all great ways to promote your business.

Of course, as you start earning money from a few niches, you need to invest that profit back into your business. Get your own domains, create professional sites, invest in an autoresponder so you can start building a list of interested clients.

Don’t be put off starting an online business (whether you opt for the niche marketing model or a completely different model) by fear of the costs involved. Yes, you will have to devote some time to it, yes you will have to learn some new skills, and yes, you will have to be prepared to keep going when things are tough.

Think of the possibilities just of this one feature alone.
